World Mission Offering - October

 

 

 

 

People come to Christ when Ann & Bruce Borquist train a missionary in Brazil. People grow in Christ when Dave Perkins leads a Bible study in India. People change the world as the Spirit of Christ works within them when David & Laura Parajón train rural clinic workers in Nicaragua. This is just a small example of how our missionaries work throughout the world!

The World Mission Offering is the single largest source of the financial support for International Ministries, and your gift goes 100% to make disciples of Jesus Christ internationally.

This offering supports the work of:

• Over 1,600 volunteer and short-term missionaries
• 110 long-term missionaries
• 13 mission special assistants
• Over 151 partner mission workers.

Our (First Baptist Church) goal in 2007 was $7,500.  One week before the last Sunday of October (WMO Sunday) the total amount given stood at less than $2,000.  It was seemingly apparent that the desired goal would not be met.  However God’s ways are not our ways and Gods time schedule is not our time schedule.

The goal of $7,500 has not only been met but has been surpassed. In Gods word, Proverbs 28, God states: “He who gives to the poor will lack for nothing.”  Thank you First Baptist church family for being open to the work of God around you and giving from the blessings god has bestowed upon you.  Remain forever God’s servants and know that your treasures are being stored up in heaven.
